Officer Jeffery Gee
A Williamson County Sheriff’s detective has been placed on administrative leave with pay after he was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated early Sunday morning in Northwest Austin, the sheriff’s office said.
Austin police arrested detective Jeffery Gee about 12:15 a.m. after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the 12500 block of Ridgeline Blvd., Austin police detective James Mason said.
Gee was booked into to the Williamson County Jail and was released on $2,500 bond later that morning.
Gee will remain on leave pending a sheriff’s office investigation, the sheriff’s office said.
He has worked for the sheriff’s office for more than a decade, spokesman John Foster said.
