Police telecommunicator charged with DWI
A Burlington police telecommunicator faces DWI and speeding charges after she registered .21 on a blood test Saturday.
The telecommunicator, Christina Nicole Tatum, is 24 and lives on South Church Street in Burlington, NC.
She also was cited with driving 60 mph in a 45-mph zone after a state Highway Patrol trooper stopped her on U.S. 70 at 12:20 a.m. Saturday, according to a traffic citation.
Tatum was stopped after she drove through a DWI checkpoint, according to a report on www.digtriad.com

John Nixon, the spokesman for the city of Burlington, said Tatum is on paid administrative leave. She has worked for the police department since November 2007, Nixon added.
