ANDERSON -- A former Anderson County Detention Center officer is out of jail after a guilty plea in an Anderson County courtroom Wednesday.
Officer Charles David Owen pleaded guilty to a charge of high and aggravated assault.
Last spring, Owen was originally charged with one count of incest.
The victim, now 19, came forward last January.
Investigators told WYFF News 4 that the victim said then that Owen began sexually assaulting her when she was 15.
Owen was sentenced to 10 years in prison on the lesser chaged, but the judge suspended it to two years of probation after the victim asked the court to not send Owen to jail.
Owen must attend sex offender counseling classes and have no contact with the victim while on probation.
