Florida Police Chief Arrested

   Police Chief David William Scheid, 47, a former deputy with the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office who was named Zolfo Springs chief in 2005, has been charged with two felony counts of official police_brutality; one felony count of grand theft, one felony count of tampering with a witness, one felony count of fabricating physical evidence and one count of petit theft. Deputy Arrested in Sex Assault on 14-year-old Girl

 A Denver County sheriff's deputy is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old neighbor girl while giving her a ride to work.

 Deputy John Ray Luna, 45, was arrested by Wheat Ridge police,  after the girl called for help once she was dropped off at work. Full Text

A Police Officer Kills Two Cops and His Former Fiancee

  Officer Eugene Victor Perry Jr, turned himself in yesterday and has been charged in the shooting deaths of two off-duty Baltimore city officers. Another victim was the former fiancee of the suspect. Bail has been denied.

 The two city officers, identified as Adam Vazquez, 26, and Leslie Holliday, 34, were shot shortly after noon. Vazquez was a 4 1/2-year veteran of the city force; Holliday had been on the force for 1 1/2 years and was still on probationary status. Full Text

Deputy Who Lied is Sentenced to Jail Time

  A former Tippecanoe County sheriff's deputy who lied about a well-being check on a little girl who later died from abuse was sentenced Tuesday to six months in jail. Full Text

Police Officer Pleads Guilty to Sex with a Minor

  A former Fernandina Beach Police officer pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, tampering with a witness and official police_brutality.

 Officer James Allen Branning  could be sentenced to 25 years in prison. But his sentence could be reduced if he cooperates in the state's case against three other city police officers. Full Text
