US Capitol police investigating flag with swastika in Republican’s office
US Capitol police are reportedly investigating after a US flag bearing a swastika was discovered inside the office of Republican House member Dave Taylor of Ohio.
The image, obtained by Politico, shows a modified flag featuring red and white stripes arranged in the form of a swastika – which is virtually synonymous with the Nazis’ genocidal regime. The flag was displayed on what appears to be a cubicle wall behind Angelo Elia, one of Taylor’s staff members, during a virtual meeting.
Other items pinned nearby include a pocket constitution and a congressional calendar. It remains unclear whether Elia had any connection to the display.
“I am aware of an image that appears to depict a vile and deeply inappropriate symbol near an employee in my office,” Taylor said in a statement to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
DHS official busted for lying about teen’s ICE arrest
A Department of Homeland Security official was busted for lying about a teenage girl’s violent arrest by federal agents.
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin claimed video of the arrest Friday actually showed Chicago police detaining a burglar last year, but a Daily Beast analysis confirmed the teen – a U.S. citizen – was violently thrown to the ground and taken into custody by officers from a department outside the city with help from DHS Enforcement and Removals Operations (ERO).
“Imagine being so desperate to demonize law enforcement you post a video from a burglary arrest Chicago Police made over a year ago,” McLaughlin posted. “This isn’t even ICE.”
McLaughlin’s misinformation fell apart quickly, as separate video clips were posted on social media taken in Hoffman Estates, a village outside Chicago. The 18-year-old’s parents confirmed to CBS News that their daughter and two friends were held for hours in the parking lot outside the suburban police station without explanation.
Videos also show an officer wearing body armor affixed with “ERO — Enforcement and Removal Operations” branding, and Hoffman Estates confirmed to the Beast that Immigration and Customs Enforcement had been in the area.
Dallas Police Chief says his department is not aiding ICE investigations, but residents remain wary
Dallas Texas – As videos of ICE operations circulate on social media, there’s a growing concern about ICE activity in Dallas. On Tuesday evening, Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux addressed rumors about cooperation between Dallas Police and ICE during a meeting of the city’s Community Police Oversight Board.
Comeaux was explicit about how Dallas Police has, and hasn’t, participated in immigration enforcement.
“We have not been helping ICE on many investigations,” he said. “Now, if they call, like I said, we will cooperate and assist, and that is a rule from the City of Dallas.”
His remarks come amid heightened attention to his approach. He addressed a recent ICE operation along Harry Hines Boulevard in Northwest Dallas.
“We were asked to protect the perimeter of that, and we did that. We had nothing to do as DPD with that investigation at all,” he said.
Still, residents continue to voice concern over what they say they’ve witnessed in their neighborhoods.
“I’ve spoken directly with the families, and they would love to be here, but they can’t because they’re scared,” said one public speaker.

Attorneys representing a producer for Chicago’s WGN television station who was temporarily detained by federal agents last week in Chicago, say the incident “should be alarming and horrifying to every person in this country”.
Debbie Brockman, a US citizen and a WGN employee, was arrested on Friday by federal agents during an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) operation in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood. Videos from the scene show Brockman being forced to the ground by two agents.
DHS: Drug cartels offering bounties to kill ICE officers
The Department of Homeland Security today said Mexican drug cartels are offering $50,000 to kill federal immigration officers in Chicago. It comes as there’s a new clash there over President Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration.

Secret police agents kidnapped a man and his friends in their truck and drove around in circles while the Gestapo asked questions, such as where he was born and what his parents’ names are.
A legal citizen said he was targeted by ICE agents in Chicago and was fined for not having his papers.
Rueben Antonio Cruz, 60, was sitting with a friend in Rogers Park on Oct. 9 when Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents pulled up onto the street and headed straight for the duo.
“They asked us if we had papers. I said I do, but I don’t have them on me,” Cruz, who is originally from El Salvador said. It comes after an out-of-control ICE agent yells ‘do something, b—-‘ before shooting a woman 5 times.
Cruz told the Chicago Tribune that the agents put him and his friend in their truck and drove around in circles while they asked questions, such as where he was born and what his parents’ names are.
“I told them, they are dead,” said Cruz, but the agents still needed the information to look him up in their databases. After verifying that Cruz was legally in the country, he was let go, but his friend, who did not have legal status, was taken away.
