Waller County, TX – Governor Greg Abbott will appoint Sean Whittmore to succeed Elton Mathis as Criminal District Attorney for Waller County. Sean is an experienced attorney with over 10 years of experience as a felony prosecutor as well as nearly 5 years of experience as a criminal defense attorney. He has served the citizens of Waller County for over six years, prosecuting serious felony cases, advising local law enforcement, and supervising the felony and misdemeanor prosecutors in the District Attorney’s Office. In that time, he has earned the trust and respect of local law enforcement, leaders, juries, and the judges of Waller County. In his time as a felony prosecutor, he has never lost a jury trial and has obtained several hundred years in prison sentences for the criminals he has prosecuted.
Sean is a married father of two smart and beautiful daughters, a life-long Republican raised in Texas, and a graduate of Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in History. After graduating from Texas A&M, Sean attended Washburn University School of Law on an academic scholarship, where he met Maureen, his wife of eleven years. Maureen Whittmore is a prosecutor with the Special Prosecution Unit of Texas who has dedicated her career to protecting Texans from sexually violent predators.
